1. How is Suntory PepsiCo Management Trainee Program different from other training programs?
Suntory PepsiCo Management Trainee Program offers long-term career progression into our management team, not just a job. This is demonstrated by intensive training and development programs including the Core Management Trainee Program, Individual Development Program and Leadership Development Program. Accordingly, the duration of our program was changed from 18 months to 36 months (3 years) in 2011 with the objective of providing a longer career roadmap for Management Trainees, enabling them to take managerial positions at the end of the program. And it doesn't stop there. If you continually deliver results both internally and externally, and prove your leadership potential, there is further opportunity for the next level of leadership development. The fact that many of our Management Trainees from previous years now hold key managerial positions in our business, is testament to our commitment.
2. How many trainees are you looking for this year?
Each year we take from fifteen to twenty Management Trainees.
3. What kind of people are you looking for?
Our selection process is designed to assess your future potential in our business. We do this using the Leadership & Individual Effectiveness Model.
The leadership imperatives include Setting Agendas, Taking Others with You & Doing It in the Right Way. We also focus on your motivation to work in a FMCG environment.
4. I am a graduate from social sciences/ technology, would that affect my chance of becoming a Management Trainee?
The possibilities are open for all majors as long as you can demonstrate enthusiasm and potential for the role.
5. What areas can you apply for?
The program takes Management Trainees in Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Sales and Operations.
6. Do I choose which area I work in?
Yes, you will decide your career of choice from the beginning when filling in the application form. Please think carefully about yourself (strengths, weaknesses, passions) and your career goals. Through our selection process, we will also support you in identifying the most suitable role.
7. How do I know which area suits me best?
We organize Career Orientation Days across countries to provide clear career advice and a detailed description of each department to help you decide. Additionally, the department roles and responsibilities are provided on our website (www.suntorypepsico.vn). You should study it carefully to see where you think you fit best. You can also google career orientation and personality tests to identify your most suitable function.
8. What training is provided for Management Trainees?
We will provide you with functional trainings and soft-skills training along with on-the-job training to develop your general business knowledge and strategic business skills to ensure you are ready for our managerial positions.
Our Management Trainee Program is designed to provide training opportunities that develop your functional skills and leadership skills. This is done through on-the-job training (70%), coaching (20%) and formal training (10%).
9. Can I apply for Management Trainee positions in locations other than where I am based? And if I am successful in my application, will I receive and financial support or allowance?
Candidates can apply for Management Trainee roles in any location. Please indicate your preferred location clearly in the application form under the question "What is your most preferred location to apply for Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam?" If successful, candidates are responsible for their own relocation and housing needs.
10. Do you provide transportation/ accommodation support during selection process?
The selection process, testing and initial interview rounds will be organized at each location (HCMC, Hanoi and Can Tho), no transportation/ accommodation support is provided.
Candidates from Can Tho who join Assessment Center in HCMC are supported. Other candidates from the surrounding area of HCMC and Hanoi are not entitled to support.
11. When does a trainee become a member of staff? And is a salary provided throughout the trainee program?
As an Management Trainee, you are an employee of the company. You will enjoy an attractive remuneration package which includes a competitive base salary, plus benefits.
